About the event

The Course is the only one in Italy and has received the praise of many students who are now continuing their journey. It provides a certificate recognized by the IPHM in Great Britain as "Operator of Monastic Herbalism".


HOW IT WORKS: the course is for everyone and does not require any basic preparation, with 12 online lessons of one hour each on an e-learning platform. Each lesson is recorded and is available for 60 days.

WHAT IT CONSISTS OF:

PLAN

1 The origin of life: all the basic information (complete for the educational objectives of this course) on the plant and animal world, with notes on the morphology, physiology of the plant world and the classification of plants

2 Natural Well-Being: The lessons contain numerous formulas (not theoretical, but derived from daily and decades-long monastic practice) of herbal teas and decoctions. Detailed instructions are also provided for making elixirs, medicinal wines, herbal liqueurs, preparations with essential oils for various therapeutic purposes, and perfumes at home.

3 Cosmetic use of herbs, flowers and fruit: Cosmetic use of herbs, flowers, fruit with a section dedicated to the skin and skin appendages (hair). Formulas and explanations for making creams, shampoos, bath and massage oils... All the formulas reported can be made as the raw materials are easily available on the market and the method is simple.

4 Culinary use of herbs, according to ancient tradition: Culinary use of herbs and therapeutic properties of plants used in cooking, with numerous ancient formulas to combine the taste of common herbs with their activities for physiological well-being. The properties of many herbs, fruits and vegetables are also described and indications on their use with various formulas ranging from homemade bread to blackcurrant cream.

5 Ancient Mediterranean Medicine: The fundamental principles of Ancient Mediterranean Medicine are illustrated, precious medical and herbal knowledge linked to the Mediterranean area that has been lost and that should be explored and reviewed in a modern key.

The general setting is that of Eastern Christianity of the first centuries starting from the most ancient origins.

There is also an Advanced practical level in the Monastery: one weekend from May to September.
