Nun for a week August 26 - September 1

In a wonderful and nascent place, on the Sacred Line of Michael the Archangel, an incredible experience: not only volunteers but monks with the opportunity to be trained in Meditation, Contemplation and Self-Healing, in a few words in Transcendental Hesychasm.

An ancient oriental custom is to allow those who live in the world to spend a week or more in the monastery and live exactly like a monk or a nun. Some common schedules, but above all the possibility of being trained in Hesychasm (Meditation, contemplation, self-healing).

The "temporary" monk/nun does not wear the habit but undertakes to observe some fundamental rules:

- Maintains strict silence at all times, without exceptions, and communicates only when necessary;

- Do not use your cell phone except at certain times, leaving it in the monastery's reception area;

- Follows some of the monks' timetables and participates in some liturgies.

Lives in very simple spaces with a single room but with a shared bathroom. Eats with others. Observes strict silence. Lives with our animals. And much more...

The experience includes full stay with a pre-established offering for the restoration of the monastery and for expenses.

There are no age limits, but you must be over 18. Men and women can participate.

Any violation of the rules of silence and timetables will result in removal from the Monastery.

The experience is free but with a mandatory minimum donation for expenses and as a contribution for the restoration: this represents the monk/nun's entrance fee.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON HOSPITALITY:

ATTENTION: There are free dogs and goats. You must love animals. No pets allowed.

Hospitality: Single bed and pillow and vegetarian meals are provided. You must bring your own sheets and towels.

We cannot accept any particular dietary indication: we eat what is there. This is the life of a monk.

Smoking is not allowed inside or outside. But only outside the monastery walls.

Wine is offered on Sundays.

You must be in good health to work. The offering paid does not entitle (as an offering and not a payment) to stay or to have it back in the event of voluntary removal or for transgression of the rules.
