(18 hours the first year and 18 hours the second year)
HYDROTHERAPY or water therapy, is a discipline that uses the benefits of water on the human body to treat particular disorders. It is a practice of alternative medicine known since ancient times, from Pythagoras to Hippocrates up to the ancient Romans.
The techniques, even those of modern hydrotherapy, are aimed at obtaining reactions through the use of water to alleviate ailments and discomforts, both through application on the epidermis and through introduction into the organism, all with the aim of achieving re-balancing in the human body.
PLAN
Hydrotherapy has as its main purpose the preparation of operators for this important practice that leads to a rebalancing action of the body thanks to the particular treatments with water.
After a quick excursus into the history of Hydrotherapy, the student will tackle the important subject of knowledge of the epidermis, both at an anatomical and physiological level.
Knowing how blood circulation works, vasoconstriction and vasodilation, how the skin and dermis are formed, is essential for the future operator in Hydrotherapy to understand how the human body reacts to the stimulus of water.
Hydrotherapy is therefore a therapy performed with water and there are numerous types of hydrotherapy applications, such as compresses, sponge baths, compresses and even the use of hot water bottles.
During the course, the functions of hot and cold showers and affusions will also be illustrated, as well as cold, hot and alternating temperature baths.
The student will then learn about the sitz bath technique and the formula for toxilymphemia.
The functioning of hot, cold and alternating temperature foot baths and walking in cold water, known as the Kneipp technique, are part of the subjects to be learned.
Thermalism, or the theme linked to the great world of spas, is a topic that the student of the course presented by AIOC Italia will be able to explore in depth, since spas are the place where modern hydrotherapy is most practiced.
In addition to the historical notes of thermalism, the future operator in Hydrotherapy will know the classification and composition of the main thermal waters. The techniques of the sauna and Turkish bath, with their benefits, will no longer have secrets for the student.
The technique of internal hydrotherapy, i.e. enema and colon hydrotherapy, will also be addressed.
Thalassotherapy, that is, the set of treatments that exploit the healing potential of sea water, will also be a subject of study for the student who wants to specialize in water-based treatments.
To fully understand the functions of mineral water and Crenotherapy, that is, the treatment carried out using mineral waters, the future operator will have to know the various types of mineral waters and their classification as well as how water is recognized as drinkable.
At the end of the course, the operator specialized in Hydrotherapy will have the skills to start his own business and the tools to find his own clients.
